Our purebred AKC Golden Retriever puppies are $3,495 + tax. Puppy availability and specific litter pricing can be found on Available Puppies.

Deposits are nonrefundable. The one exception: if you reserve a puppy from an anticipated litter and that puppy isn’t available (for example, the litter doesn’t arrive or not enough puppies are born), we will refund your entire deposit, or you can choose a puppy from a current or future litter instead.

If you back out after your puppy is born, the deposit can’t be transferred to a future litter. Placing a deposit means you agree to our puppy contract.

The balance is paid by card or ACH through our secure client portal. ACH takes a few business days to clear, so we recommend paying about a week ahead.

If you will provide a loving and safe home, you can reserve your puppy on Available Puppies. In addition to reading the contract, you’ll place a deposit. 1. Place a deposit. A $500 nonrefundable deposit reserves your puppy from a current or upcoming litter and counts toward the price. Your confirmation page will direct you to our puppy application, and we’ll be in touch within 24–48 hours to confirm acceptance.
2. Birth and updates. We alert you by email or text when your puppy is born and schedule your pickup appointment. If your puppy is already born, the pickup date is noted in the litter listing. You’ll get weekly photo updates.
3. Personality testing and your pick. We do individualized Volhard Puppy Aptitude Tests on each puppy at 7 weeks old, with individual photos and Interactive Videos showing each puppy’s Volhard score and a description of its personality. The picking process also starts at 7 weeks old via these videos and pictures. We reach out when it’s your turn to choose and are glad to recommend a puppy based on your lifestyle. 4. Take-home day. At 8 weeks old (or when Foundations training is complete), pick up your puppy at your pre-scheduled appointment time. Personalized delivery to your door is available on request.

Pick order is set by deposit date, so families who reserve first choose first. The picking process starts at 7 weeks old via our videos and pictures. When it’s your turn to choose, we reach out with each puppy’s Volhard results. Those results also help us choose service & therapy dog puppies.

Puppies go home at 8 weeks old, fully weaned and eating dry kibble. Puppies in a Foundations Puppy Training package go home when their program is complete.

We serve families from Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, surrounding states and all over the USA. Personalized delivery to your door is available on request.

We understand life happens and schedules conflict. We’re flexible and can usually accommodate a custom pickup date. We can also keep your puppy after the 8-week mark for $50/day. Puppies in a training program are exempt from this fee.

Our 2-year health guarantee covers serious congenital or hereditary conditions. If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses one and you provide written veterinary documentation, we'll work with you on a fair resolution, which may include a replacement puppy or a refund, at our discretion, up to the purchase price. To keep the guarantee active, have your puppy seen by a vet within 3 business days of going home and keep them on the TLC food we recommend. The full details are in our puppy contract.

Yes. Our puppies receive a litter vet check and are up to date on their first shots and dewormings. Your puppy needs to be seen by your local vet within 3 business days of bringing your puppy home; otherwise the health guarantee is void.

Puppies are sold as pets on limited registration and should be spayed or neutered within 18 months of birth. Full registration is available to approved buyers for an additional cost.

Yes. Our Foundations Puppy Training program covers:

• Potty, leash and crate training
• Sit
• No jumping
• Car rides
• Household sounds (dishwasher, laundry, vacuum, espresso machine)
• Being alone
• Introduction to 2 cats in the home

Training starts at 7+ weeks old and is completed in house by the Buckeye Goldens Team after you’ve made your puppy choice from our videos. Your puppy goes home when the training program is complete, so the go-home date is set by the program length. Puppies train in Josh & Lil’s home (with their 3 kids), you get personalized training updates, and we limit training to 2 puppies at a time.
