From families in Pittsburgh and Coraopolis
We adore our beautiful, smart, affectionate golden retriever Nina from Buckeye Golden Retrievers! Marcellus and Josh were incredible to work with on finding our newest family member. They accommodated all our questions and needs from the moment we reached out to them to inquire about a new puppy, through the selection process and final stage of bringing puppy home. I highly recommend Buckeye Golden Retrievers.
Buckeye Golden Retrievers and Marcellus made the process of adopting my puppy from Charlie's Dark Red Litter very easy and stress free. We now have a 4 month old perfect, well-tempered puppy! I would go to Buckeye Golden Retrievers a million times over!

Questions from Pittsburgh & Western Pennsylvania families
Have more questions? Contact us. We normally respond in 24–48 hours on business days.
How far is Buckeye Golden Retrievers from Pittsburgh?+−
We are in Dundee, Ohio (Tuscarawas County), about 105 road miles west of downtown Pittsburgh. The most direct route is I-376 and US-22 west through Weirton, WV and Steubenville, OH, then US-250 into Amish Country. Plan on about 2¼ hours each way. Moon Township, Coraopolis and the airport area are about 5 miles closer.
Do you deliver from Ohio to Pittsburgh?+−
Yes. We deliver nationwide, and the Pittsburgh area is an easy trip for us. We offer to-your-door delivery across Allegheny County and Western Pennsylvania, from the South Hills to the North Hills and out to Cranberry Township. Delivery to Pittsburgh is about $350. Enter your ZIP code in the delivery calculator to see the price for your town.
Can we meet halfway instead of driving to Dundee?+−
Yes. Just enter the ZIP code where you’d like to meet in the delivery estimator, and the estimator will give you a custom quote. You are also welcome to text us and we will work out a meeting spot together.
Do Pittsburgh families need airport delivery?+−
No. Airport delivery ($1,895 to your nearest major airport) is for families who live much farther from Ohio. Pittsburgh is close enough for pickup at the farm or to-your-door delivery, which costs far less.
Is anything different for a Pennsylvania family?+−
Your puppy comes with the same AKC registration paper, veterinary certificate of health, vaccination records and 2-year health guarantee as every Buckeye puppy. Once you are home, remember that Pennsylvania requires a dog license as soon as you bring a puppy home. City of Pittsburgh residents license through the City of Pittsburgh; elsewhere it is your county treasurer.
Can we choose our puppy without making the trip first?+−
Yes, you can choose entirely from home. We post update photos every week as the litter grows, and at 7 weeks we send individual photos and Interactive Videos showing each puppy’s Volhard score and personality. If we have puppies ready to go home, we are also happy to set up a visit when the pups are 8 weeks old.
What does a puppy cost, and when is it paid?+−
Our purebred AKC Golden Retriever puppies are $3,495 + tax. A $500 nonrefundable deposit reserves your puppy from a current or upcoming litter and counts toward the price. The balance is paid by card or ACH through our secure client portal. ACH takes a few business days to clear, so we recommend paying about a week ahead.
What should we bring for the ride home to Pittsburgh?+−
A crate to secure your puppy in the car (or hold your puppy in the blanket from our Buckeye Starter Kit), a 10–14" collar and leash. Our Gotcha Day guide has the full list, plus places to eat and stay near the farm if you make a day of it.
When should we see a Pittsburgh vet?+−
Within 3 business days of bringing your puppy home. That first visit with your local vet is required, otherwise the 2-year health guarantee is void, so book the appointment as soon as your pickup or delivery date is set.
