Reserving a Puppy - Deposit
The purchase price is $3,495 plus applicable tax. A $500 nonrefundable deposit reserves the puppy and counts toward the purchase price. The deposit can be paid on our website.
Payment
Puppies go home at 8 weeks old. Take-home day usually falls on a Saturday, though a weekday pickup can be arranged on request. If a weekday doesn't work for you, we'll schedule your pickup for the nearest Saturday. If you need a little more time, we're happy to care for your puppy for a few extra days; beyond that, extended stays are $50 per day.
To keep take-home day relaxed and all about your puppy, the balance is paid ahead of time through our secure client portal by credit card or ACH bank transfer. Card payments go through right away. ACH takes a few business days to clear, so we recommend paying about a week ahead.
Delivery, if requested, is quoted separately in writing and paid along with the balance through our client portal.
Deposit Refund Policy
Puppy deposits are nonrefundable. If you can't move forward with a puppy from an existing litter, we'll let that puppy go to another family on our waitlist. If you back out after the puppy is born, the deposit does not transfer to a future litter. If the deposit was for an anticipated litter and that puppy becomes unavailable, Buckeye will refund the entire deposit or offer a replacement from a current or future litter.
Two-Year Health Guarantee
We guarantee this puppy, to the best of our knowledge, to be healthy at the time it leaves our care. The puppy has had a complete physical exam by our vet, received the first puppy vaccination, and has been dewormed. You'll need to have a veterinarian evaluate the puppy within 3 business days of acquiring it. If the puppy was not examined within the first 3 business days of ownership, the health guarantee becomes void.
For two years from the go-home date, if a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a serious congenital or hereditary condition and you provide written veterinary documentation, we'll work with you personally to find a fair resolution, which may include a replacement puppy or a refund at Buckeye's discretion. In no case will our total obligation exceed the purchase price of the puppy.
Coccidia, Giardia, UTI, fleas, parasites, worms and other treatable illnesses are not covered by the Two-Year Health Guarantee. Except as provided in the Two-Year Health Guarantee, you hold Buckeye harmless for veterinary bills, other puppy-related expenses, long-term medical care or extraordinary measures you elect, and for any sickness, death, or loss of the puppy after it leaves Buckeye's premises. Buckeye is also not responsible for behavior problems, improper training, personal injury, or property damage caused by the puppy.
Your puppy has been raised on TLC Whole Life Puppy Food, and we've seen how well our goldens grow and thrive on it. To keep the Two-Year Health Guarantee in effect, we ask that your puppy stay on TLC dog food throughout the guarantee period. If your veterinarian recommends a different diet for a medical reason, please contact us first and we'll work with you. Otherwise, if your puppy is switched to another food, the Two-Year Health Guarantee will no longer apply.
Limited Registration
This puppy comes home as a family companion on limited AKC registration, which means they're not for breeding. Spay or neuter by 18 months is strongly encouraged; talk with your veterinarian about timing. No proof of spay or neuter is required. Full registration is available to approved families for an additional cost.
If You Can't Keep Your Puppy
If you can't keep the puppy for any reason, contact Buckeye first. Please bring your puppy back to us, or rehome them only with our written approval. A voluntary return does not include a refund of the purchase price. You may not transfer ownership without Buckeye's consent, and the health guarantee does not transfer without Buckeye's consent. Return travel or shipping is the family's responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.
After go-home, you are responsible for the puppy's lifelong care, including food, shelter, training, exercise, and veterinary care.
General Terms
This contract is governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. This Deposit and Sales Contract, together with any written delivery quote Buckeye issues, is the entire agreement and supersedes prior oral or written statements about this purchase. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stay in effect. By placing a deposit and/or signing electronically in Buckeye's client portal, the buyer agrees to these terms. An electronic signature has the same effect as a handwritten one.
